Get PADI Dive Certified in Candidasa, East Bali

Why Learn to Dive in Candidasa?

Candidasa is a quiet seaside village in East Bali, about 2 hours from Bali’s international airport. Tourism here is made up mostly of divers and those who enjoy the quieter side of Bali. This makes it the perfect place to get, or top up, your PADI certification.

Also a plus is Gangga Divers, one of the longest established dive schools in Candidasa. The dive centre is run by professional PADI certified dive instructors who know the dive sites in the area very well. Your safety and the safety of the marine life are their highest priorities. Divers often say they go back to Gangga Divers time and time again because of this.

While you’re doing your PADI course it’s very important to be well rested and physically fit. Lotus Bungalows offers you a comfortable, quiet place to stay, healthy food and a relaxing atmosphere so you can be your best during your course.

Beginner Divers

For beginner divers there are a few PADI courses to choose from. For those thinking of testing out scuba diving for the first time PADI Discover Scuba Diving is a great introduction. PADI Scuba Diver is also a starter course for complete beginners. Both courses start in the pool at Lotus Bungalows and move on to the waters off of Candidasa. Even children from 10 years old can take these courses to get their first taste of diving in a safe environment.

The water off Candidasa is warm, around 24-29°c year round, and also generally calm. The best learner conditions are the most comfortable conditions, so warm, calm waters are ideal.

Intermediate Courses

For those already PADI certified, PADI Open Water and Advanced Open Water courses help to build skill level and confidence. The courses are 5 and 2 days respectively, and include exploring the amazing dive sites off of Candidasa. Some of these sites might include the small islands off Candidasa, Tulamben, Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan. Wherever you dive during this course, you’ll get a close up look at the huge variety of marine life off the east coast of Bali.

Both courses include classroom theory, pool sessions for skills practice and open water dives to use the new skills you have learned. As part of the Advanced Open Water course, you can also choose from specific dives, like wreck, deep, night and drift diving.

If you are looking for a challenge and to become a confident open water diver, these courses are definitely for you.

Extra Dive Courses

For divers who already hold their Open Water certificates, there are still options to take your dive training further. Perhaps you’d like to learn more about shark conservation diving, night diving or drift diving. Specialty courses allow you to choose which area of diving you are most interested in. Your dive instructors can then tailor your course to you, choosing the best sites around East Bali.

There are also courses for divers who just can’t get enough and want to be able to stay underwater longer. Enriched Air and Poseidon Rebreather courses allow you to do exactly that. You’ll be able to spend up to three times longer exploring under the waves! Gangga Divers is currently the only dive school in Bali offering Poseidon Rebreather training, but just as a note you must already have your Enriched Air certificate to do this course.

Sorry, not sure if my inquiry posted a moment ago.
We will be staying at the Rama Candidasa resort from March 16 to 24. I have my PADI open water license and I would like to get my wife and 2 daughter (age 15 and 17) certified with their open water licenses. Can we do this through one of your programs or do you have another recommendation?
    Thanks,
    Doug
