Rainy Season Ideas for Your Holiday in Bali

Bali’s rainy season starts around October and can last well into March. However, this isn’t a reason to rule out a holiday in Bali during these months. The rain can be unpredictable and some days are grey all day, but generally rainstorms roll in and out again in a matter of hours. If you are spending a number of days in Bali, you are unlikely to have rain the whole time but if it is wet while you’re there, here are some ideas of things to do to enjoy the time.

1. Scuba Dive

When you are under the water it doesn’t make much difference if it is raining or sunny. Rainy season can actually be a good time to dive as there are less people at most of the best dive sites around Bali. The water is still warm and marine life is busy feeding on all the nutrients the rain stirs up.

Learning to dive in the rainy season is also a good way to spend a few days of your Bali break. You don’t need to hunker down and stay inside, you can spend the time learning and gaining a new skill.

2. Have a massage

One of the best ways to spend time when it’s raining in Bali is having a pampering massage. At Lotus Bungalows Candidasa you can book a massage to relax and revive your body. This is especially welcome when the rain makes you chilly.

3. Book an adventure

If it’s raining, why not just get wetter? River rafting is one of the choices of excursions from Lotus Bungalows that you can book at the reception desk. Rafting in Bali is great fun and is generally gentle enough for anyone over 6 years old. This doesn’t mean it isn’t exciting though, there are plenty of thrills especially when the rivers are a bit fuller from the rain. Another bonus is you will also see beautiful parts of Bali that you can only see from the river.

4. Catch up on your reading

If you are ready to just enjoy some downtime, rainy season is the perfect time to catch up on some reading. Find a cozy spot and get through all those books you have been meaning to read but haven’t had the time for.

5. Enjoy some family time

Rainy days may seem like the worst time to have to entertain kids, but actually they can be really fun. Board games or cards are a great way to have some family time together. This is especially true nowadays when we are often on devices. Put the tech down and go old school with some wholesome family game time.

As you can see, there is really no reason to stay away from Bali in the rainy season. You might need to get a bit creative, but if you are prepared for some rainy times, you can still enjoy your holiday. You will also see the island at its lushest and most verdantly green, which is worth getting a bit wet for.
